Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Last updated: October 2026
This policy explains how Pacific Rim Mushrooms Ltd., based in North Vancouver, British Columbia, handles personal information when you visit pacrimmushrooms.com, place an order or join our email list. We are a British Columbia organization, so BC’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) applies to how we handle personal information. Canada’s federal law (PIPEDA) may also apply to information that crosses provincial or national borders.
What we collect

| Join our email list | Your email address and which emails you open or click |

Payment details are collected and processed by our payment provider. Our store does not store full card numbers. The provider may keep payment information under its own privacy terms.
How we use it
- To process, ship and support your orders, including subscriptions
- To send order confirmations and shipping updates (these are service messages, not marketing)
- To ask for a product review after delivery
- To send marketing emails, only if you’ve opted in. You can unsubscribe any time from the link in every email.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it
- To measure and show our ads, for example on Facebook and Instagram
- To prevent fraud and spam
Who we share it with
We use outside services to run our store. Each receives the information it needs for its job:
- Payments: WooPayments (powered by Stripe) processes card payments.
- Shipping: our fulfilment partner and Canada Post receive your name, address and order details to deliver your order.
- Email: MailPoet sends our order and marketing emails.
- Reviews: our review tool receives your name, email and the products you bought to send a review request.
- Analytics: Google Analytics measures site traffic. Microsoft Clarity records how visitors scroll and click (with payment and form fields masked) so we can fix confusing pages.
- Advertising: Meta (Facebook and Instagram) receives page views, cart and purchase events through its Pixel and Conversions API, which helps measure our ads and show them to people likely to be interested. Meta may use this data under its own privacy policy.
- Hosting and security: our web host, Cloudflare, BunnyCDN and Google reCAPTCHA (which checks device and interaction signals to stop spam). The map on our Contact page is provided by Google Maps.
Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.
We do not sell personal information for money. Our advertising tools may share information for targeted advertising. Where US state privacy laws give you the right to opt out of this, email us and we will honour your request.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart and login working, remember your preferences, measure site traffic, record anonymous site sessions (Clarity), and measure and target our ads (Meta). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though the cart and checkout need some cookies to work. Blocking cookies may not stop purchase events we send to Meta from our server.
How long we keep it
We keep tax and accounting records, including orders, for as long as Canadian law requires. We delete or de-identify other information when we no longer need it for the purpose we collected it for, unless we need it for legal, security or dispute reasons. If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address on a do-not-email list so we can honour your request.
Your choices and rights
- Ask to see the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct it
- Ask us to delete it, unless we must keep it by law (for example, tax records)
- Withdraw consent to marketing or optional tracking at any time. This won’t undo past use, and some services (like placing an order) need certain information to work.
Contact our Privacy Officer (details below) and we’ll respond within the time limits set by law. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia, or for cross-border matters, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and limiting access to people who need it to run the store. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected people and the regulator as required by law.
Changes
If we update this policy, we’ll post the new version here with a new “last updated” date.
